AMITE---District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on September 23, 2009, before Judge Bruce Bennett and either pleaded guilty or no contest or was found guilty of driving while intoxicated and received the following sentences:
Steven Evans, Ponchatoula, LA, age 44 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (3rd offense) and was sentenced to serve five (5) years in the Department of Corrections. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on active probation for five years with special conditions that the defendant serve one year on in-home incarceration, be evaluated for substance abuse treatment, and pay a fine of $2,000.00 plus court costs.
Rechard Robbins, Kentwood, LA, age 29 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (3rd offense) and was sentenced to serve five (5) years in the Department of Corrections. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on active probation for five years with special conditions that the defendant serve one year on in-home incarceration, be evaluated for substance abuse treatment, and pay a fine of $2,000.00 plus court costs.
The following individuals appeared in court and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found guilty of narcotic related offenses and received the following sentences:
Wayne Kliebert, Maurepas, LA, age 49 - Pleaded no contest to possession of Schedule II narcotics and was sentenced to serve three (3) years in the Department of Corrections. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on active probation for three years and ordered to pay a fine of $500.00 plus court costs.
Blake Milligan, Kingwood, TX, age 21 - Pleaded no contest to possession of marijuana and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for two years and ordered to pay a fine of $500.00 plus court costs.
Deandre Torres, Washington, DC, age 21 - Pleaded no contest to possession of marijuana and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for two years and ordered to pay a fine of $500.00 plus court costs.
The following individuals appeared in court and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found guilty of crimes against persons/property and received the following sentences:
Lester Anthony, Tickfaw, LA, age 37 - Pleaded no contest to auto burglary (9 counts), simple burglary and possession of stolen property. Defendant was sentenced to serve twelve (12) years in the Department of Corrections on three counts of auto burglary and twelve (12) years in the Department of Corrections on six counts of auto burglary, simple burglary and possession of stolen property with sentences to be served consecutively. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on active probation for five years and ordered to pay a fine of $500.00 plus court costs and make restitution.
Janet Kyzar, Independence, LA, age 27 - Pleaded no contest to misdemeanor theft and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for two years and ordered to pay a fine of $250.00 plus court costs.
Kenyon Mason, Kentwood, LA, age 17 - Pleaded no contest to simple burglary and was sentenced to serve three (3) years in the Department of Corrections. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on active probation for three years and ordered to pay a fine of $250.00 plus court costs and make restitution.
Mandi Miller, Independence, LA, age 19 - Pleaded no contest to unauthorized use of a movable and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for two years and ordered to pay a fine of $250.00 plus court costs and make restitution.
