AMITE---District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on October 19th or 20th , 2009, before Judge Brenda Bedsole Ricks, and either pleaded guilty or no contest or was found guilty of driving while intoxicated and received the following sentences:
Justin Suarez, Independence, LA, age 29 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and criminal trespassing and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail on the offense of DWI and thirty (30) days in parish jail on the offense of criminal trespassing with sentences to be served concurrently and credit given for time served.
The following individuals appeared and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found guilty of narcotic related offenses and received the following sentences:
Corey McGregor, Livingston, LA, age 29 - Pleaded no contest to possession of Schedule II narcotics (2 counts), misdemeanor theft (2 counts) and child desertion. Sentencing set for November 3, 2009.
Jacob Pedeaux, Hammond, LA, age 19 - Pleaded guilty to possession of Schedule II narcotics and was sentenced to serve two (2) years in the Department of Corrections. Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on active probation for two years and ordered to pay a fine of $1,200.00 plus court costs and pay $100.00 DARE fee.
The following individuals appeared in court and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found guilty of crimes against persons/property and received the following sentences:
Roderick Dangerfield, Hammond, LA, age 48 - Found guilty of second degree murder. Sentencing set for November 3, 2009.
Edgar Monroe, Hammond, LA, age 41 - Pleaded no contest to felony theft and was sentenced to serve five (5) years in the Department of Corrections. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on active probation for five years and ordered to pay a fine of $1,800.00 plus court costs and make restitution.
