Perrilloux: Ricks sentences cases in Amite

AMITE---District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on November 2, 2009, before Judge Brenda Bedsole Ricks, and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found guilty of driving while intoxicated and received the following sentences:

Kenneth Ballard, Kentwood, LA, age 45 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense - 2 counts) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail on each count with sentences to be serve concurrently. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fines of $715.00 plus court costs and $615.00 plus court costs.

Chelesea Brumfield, Amite, LA, age 26 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for two years with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $715.00 plus court costs.

Bobbie Cotton, Hammond, LA, age 31 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $715.00 plus court costs.

Juan Cyprian, Hammond, LA, age 44 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $615.00 plus court costs.

Amanda Hebert, Natalbany, LA, age 18 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $715.00 plus court costs.

Sandra Hemphill, Hammond, LA, age 35 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $715.00 plus court costs.

Petra Hookfin, Kentwood, LA, age 55 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $715.00 plus court costs.

Ronnie James, Amite, LA, age 55 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $715.00 plus court costs.

David McCroskey, Covington, LA, age 66 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $615.00 plus court costs.

Larry McDaniel, Summit, MS, age 36 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $615.00 plus court costs.

Chris Monistere, Hammond, LA, age 47 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Darrell Sanders, Ponchatoula, LA, age 42 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel and pay a fine of $715.00 plus court costs.

Frank Scariano, Ponchatoula, LA, age 42 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $715.00 plus court costs.

Levi Slaughter, III, Independence, LA, age 54 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $715.00 plus court costs.

Daryl Spears, Independence, LA, age 39 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $715.00 plus court costs.
