Perrilloux: Chutz sentences DWI cases in Amite

AMITE---District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on November 16, 2009, before Judge Ray Chutz, and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found guilty of driving while intoxicated and received the following sentences:

Justin Franklin, Denham Springs, LA, age 22 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense). Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for two years with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $615.00 plus court costs.

Benjamin Hammond, Hammond, LA, age 34 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense). Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for two years with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $615.00 plus court costs.

Annie Hanks, Norfolk, VA, age 33 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense). Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for two years with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $615.00 plus court costs.

David Gordon, Kentwood, LA, age 25 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense). Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for two years with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $615.00 plus court costs.

James Palmer, Jr., Independence, LA, age 35 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense). Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for two years with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $615.00 plus court costs.

John Sellers, Hammond, LA, age 37 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense). Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for two years with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $715.00 plus court costs.

Earnest Tofield, Independence, LA, age 47 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense). Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for two years with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $715.00 plus court costs.
