Perrilloux: Chutz sentences DWI, drug cases in Amite

AMITE---District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on December 16th or 17th, 2009, before Judge Ray Chutz, and either pleaded guilty or no contest or was found guilty of driving while intoxicated and received the following sentences:

Myron Dokes, Roseland, LA, age 35 - Pleaded guilty to DWI (3rd offense) and was sentenced to serve eighteen (18) months in the Department of Corrections.

Michael Kimble, Independence, LA, age 46 - Pleaded guilty to DWI (1st offense). Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for two years with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay a fine of $715.00 plus court costs.

Duane Wilson, Denham Springs, LA, age 44 - Pleaded guilty to DWI (3rd offense) and was sentenced to serve one (1) year in the Department of Corrections.

The following individuals appeared in court and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found guilty of narcotic related offenses and received the following sentences:

Alfred Dyson, Roseland, LA, age 48 - Pleaded no contest to possession of Schedule II narcotics and was sentenced to serve one (1) year in the Department of Corrections. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on active probation for one year and ordered to pay a fine of $500.00 plus court costs.

Dewayne Smith, Hammond, LA, age 29 - Pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute Schedule II narcotics. Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on active probation for five years and ordered to enroll in and complete drug court program.

The following individuals appeared in court and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found guilty of crimes against persons/property and received the following sentences:

Dennis Badeaux, Jr., Holden, LA, age 30 - Pleaded guilty to theft by fraud and theft under $300.00 (2 counts) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail on each count with sentences to be served concurrently. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for two years and ordered to pay court costs and make restitution.

Michael King, Hammond, LA, age 19 - Pleaded guilty to hunting with an unplugged gun or silencer and was ordered to pay a fine of $125.00 plus court costs and forfeit hunting license for one year.
