Perrilloux: Ricks sentences DWI cases in Amite

AMITE---District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on January 4, 2010, before Judge Brenda Bedsole Ricks, and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found guilty of driving while intoxicated and received the following sentences:

Richard Brooks, Kentwood, LA, age 24 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay fine and court costs of $707.50.

Cade Ciolino, Hammond, LA, age 20 - Pleaded guilty to DWI (underage) and was placed on bench probation for one year and ordered to pay a fine of $250.00 plus court costs, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program and attend a victims impact panel.

Andrew Ellis, Covington, LA, age 20 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay fine and court costs of $607.50.

Sharon Hihar, Amite, LA, age 40 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay fine and court costs of $707.50.

Joed Martin, Morgan City, LA, age 42 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay fine and court costs of $707.50.

George Reeves, Ponchatoula, LA, age 19 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay fine and court costs of $607.50.

Dempsey Self, Ponchatoula, LA, age 23 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay fine and court costs of $607.50.

Stephen Shephard, Kentwood, LA, age 37 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay fine and court costs of $607.50.

Jerod Stegall, Osyka, MS, age 21 - Pleaded guilty to DWI (underage) and was placed on bench probation for one year and ordered to pay a fine of $250.00 plus court costs, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, and attend a victims impact panel.

Ashley Thames, Robert, LA, age 30 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense - 2 counts) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail on each count with sentences to be served concurrently. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay fine and court costs of $707.50 on each count.

Daniel Wainwright, Jr., Albany, LA, age 25 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay fine and court costs of $707.50.

Alex Weary, Tylertown, MS, age 40 - Pleaded no contest to DWI (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year with special conditions that the defendant complete 32 hours of community service work, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, and pay fine and court costs of $607.50.
