AMITE---District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on January 12, 2010, before Judge Ernest Drake, and either pleaded guilty or no contest or was found guilty of narcotic related offenses and received the following sentences:
Lucas Hutchinson, Ponchatoula, LA, age 27 - Convicted of possession of Schedule III narcotics, illegal possession of stolen things and simple criminal damage to property was present in court for sentencing and was sentenced to serve ten (10) years in the Department of Corrections on the offense of illegal possession of stolen things, five (5) years in the Department of Corrections on the offense of possession of Schedule III narcotics, and six (6) months in parish jail on the offense of simple criminal damage to property with sentences to be served consecutively. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on active probation for five years and ordered to pay court costs and make restitution.
Cheyenne Keith, Ponchatoula, LA, age 27 - Convicted of possession of Schedule II narcotics, distribution of Schedule IV narcotics and possession of Schedule I narcotics was present in court for sentencing and was sentenced to serve ten (10) years in the Department of Corrections on the offense of distribution of Schedule IV narcotics, five (5) years in the Department of Corrections on the offense of possession of Schedule II narcotics and six (6) months in parish jail on the offense of possession of Schedule I narcotics with ten year and five year sentences to be served consecutively and six month sentence to be served concurrent with other sentences.
The following individuals appeared and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found guilty of crimes against persons/property and received the following sentences:
Lee Michael Brown, Ponchatoula, LA, age 20 - Convicted of second degree murder was present in court for sentencing and was sentenced to serve life in the Department of Corrections.
Rex Williams, Hammond, LA, age 47 - Convicted of attempted possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, identity theft and forgery was present in court for sentencing and was sentenced to serve ten (10) years in the Department of Corrections on the offense of identity theft, seven and one-half (7 ½) years in the Department of Corrections on the offense of attempted possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and five (5) years in the Department of Corrections on the offense of forgery with sentences to be served consecutive.
Roland Williams, Ponchatoula, LA, age 55 - Pleaded guilty to theft of goods and simple battery. Sentencing set for February 10, 2010.
