Perrilloux: Drake sentences DWI, burglary cases in Livingston

LIVINGSTON---District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on January 14, 2010, before Judge Ernest Drake, and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found guilty of driving while intoxicated and received the following sentences:

Justin Meaut, Jr., Mooreville, MS, age 38 - Pleaded guilty to DWI (3rd offense) and was sentenced to serve five (5) years in the Department of Corrections. Defendant to serve forty-five days and balance of jail sentence to be suspended and the defendant placed on in-home incarceration for the balance of sentence with special conditions that the defendant seek in-patient substance abuse treatment program for a minimum of four weeks to twelve months, complete a court-approved drivers improvement program and substance abuse program, attend a victims impact panel, complete 240 hours of community service work and pay a fine of $2,000.00 plus court costs

The following individuals appeared and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found guilty of crimes against persons/property and received the following sentences:

Terrance Vaughn, Hammond, LA, age 21 - Convicted of simple burglary was present in court for sentencing and was sentenced to serve twelve (12) years in the Department of Corrections. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on active probation for five years and ordered to pay court costs and make restitution.
